Maple Grove was estiblished in 1842 under the name Old Cemetery consisting of 2 acres.  Today there is a total of 48 acres, probably the oldest public cemetery in existance in the county today.  In the mid 1880's it was changed to Maple Grove due to the abundance of maple trees.  In 2004 it was estimated 5,500- 5,800 people are buried here.  For a complete update on Maple Grove Cemetery contact the Oregon Public Library or Cemetery Sexton Ronnie Stephenson.
